This is Asilidae, but something less commonly encountered. Could you add a photo that clearly shows the wing venation, and a photo that clearly shows the apex of the anterior tibiae? |

Also, if you can, I would encourage you to collect more of these, especially some females. I see it was collected in steppe. What was the microhabitat? What was it perching on? Edited by Chris Cohen on 16-06-2020 00:15 |

How many specimens do you have? If you have an extra, I'd suggest throwing the entire specimen into 90-100% ethanol. I don't want to get ahead of myself, but these may end up being type specimens so I would prefer at least 1 male and 1 female stay fully intact. |

6mm /4ff on needles already. But if necessary, I can take a few more for alcohol. They live at a distance of 800-900 meters from my garden. |

Yes, if you can get a few fresh specimens into ethanol that would be very good (1-2 would be sufficient). I'm assuming they perch/hunt from the vegetation? |
