Tachinidae or Rhinophoridae ?
GAREL Jean-Michel
Hello,
This specimen of 5-6 mm was observed this morning (May 5th) in my garden (north of Yonne department).
Tachinidae or Rhinophoridae is my question. Are you able to characterize the family and the genus ? I believe that it should be a Tachinidae, but in this family I was unable to found the genus. All my thanks for your help.
Sincerely yours, Jean-Michel Garel.www.galerie-insecte.org/galerie/image/dos280/big/Tach6-7%20505.jpg

Yes, it is a Tachinid of the tribe Wagneriini. First guess is Ramonda, but the petiole is very long and the outer vertical is strong, so it might be another genus. A good look on the bristles on the humerus would help.

Could you please provide latitude ? “Yvonne” is a rather clumpsy word to use in Google 😁

Sorry, it took me some time.

It is the male of Wagneria gagatea.
