These were all taken in East Sussex, South East England. A on 18/11/05 B & C during October C1 and C2 are the same fly many thanks Gordon

A is difficult to see, but seems to be Meliscaeva auricollis (or in genus Episyrphus is you like). B and C are Platycheirus. I leave them to the real experts Theo Zeegers |

They appear to be what we would have called Platycheirus scutatus before every hair splitter attacked the genus and found more and more cryptic species. I leave them to the real experts
