Certainly one of the crane flies, but whether it is Tipulidae or Limoniidae? What was the size (wing length) approximately?

The wings would have been something like 2 cm long. Small.

If it was that small, the chances are that it is Limoniidae. The details in the picture are not such that identification though 'official charcters' will be possible. A specialist might immediately recognise the species, though.
