Joerg,

I check it and in the manuscript of the “flies with three pulvilli of northwest Europe”, to be published later this year, it is mentioned as “ old records from eastern Germany till the 1970s”.
So the current status of H. taradin is / was extinct for Germany!

Please note your picture shows a male and females might wander off hunderds of kilometers, but males don’t. So there has to be a breeding site near your location, a marsh or a fen with marshhy borders. So it would be great if you could think this over and try to find more specimens. It will fly probably all of June.

Greetings. Theo

Hi Joerg and Theo, the recent records from the westernmost Bohemia were published in 2013. I can send you PDF via e-mail, if you wish.

Great, Libor, that would be interesting. Please note, however, that Bohemia is not formally included in the aforementioned fieldguide. hannover is !

Hi Theo and Libor,

thanks for your participation. I will try to find more specimens of the species this year. Maybe I will write an article about my find. Thank you Libor for your offer, I just downloaded your publication from researchgate.

Greetings
