Ulidiidae - Otites porcus?
Sundew
Hi,
We have some nice Otites here (50 km west of Stuttgart, southwestern Germany), the pictures of two females are from 21st May. According to wing pattern and widely orange legs it should be O. porcus and not O. ruficeps (the former O. formosa). If the latter has entirely black occiput and legs as stated in https://zenodo.or...download=1, some “O. ruficeps” pictures in the gallery should be renamed. What do you say?
Thanks for comments, Sundew

Sundew
The wings of the second female are less darkened at the tip.

Otites porcus, no doubt. It is common in that part of Germany. Great shots!!!!

Thanks! The flies were quite sluggish towards evening.
