Hello, last week I found this mosquito. Is it Anopheles sp.? 5 - 6 mm long, Pasewalk, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Thank you and regards Daniela |

Yes, the proboscis looks very thick, so I think it must be Anopheles, but I can't tell which species.

The dark patches of scales on the wings suggest that this is one of the Anopheles maculipennis complex. Apart from biochemical methods, the simplest way to identify the species is to look at the pattern on the egg chorion. So not much help with a photo!
