My goodness. Ine Blondeliini after the other. First impression is Stautochaeta albocingulata ( thick arista, broad vertex, closed topcel). You got this species last year as well Theo Edited by Zeegers on 08-08-2021 06:56 |

Thank you! Morgan A and I found this on an island with cliffs and rocks where junipers are common. Is it possible to confirm whether Staurochaeta albocingulata is the correct species? It seems that it has been found only once before in Norway. (But not by me). Morten |

My mistake. The other one was from Sweden. I can’t check my collection, but I have little doubt it is OK. Your juniper info supports the ID. Possibly, this species profits from climate change (?), possibly, it is simoly overlooked. Theo |

I went back to the site where we found the fly to check if there were any junipers growing there. - and it did. Sorry to bother you, Theo, but do you think I can report it as Staurochaeta albocingulata? |
