Whilst I was leaning down looking for insects in dense undergrowth next to Jarplunder Au (stream) this fly landed on my glasses and and later flew onto my hand. They were very common on sunny days, often seen both on the bare soil (recently ploughed and flattened former mixed grassland) and on solidago blossoms. Since it's a predator I am wondering if it could be coenosia tigrina? 7-9mm long 31st Aug. 2021, 17.47pm. Flensburg, N. Germany :- 54.754165, 9.421164 Many Thanks in advance. Ray |

Beautiful pictures Ray! Probably it is C. tigrina, but let's wait for the real experts. Greetings, Frank. |
