Anopheles claviger ♀(♂)
eklans
Hi, I've seen my first Anopheles in my garden:
Ansbach, DE-Franconia, Frankenhoehe Nature Park, old deciduous forest, 2021-09-03+
and I think it could be Anopheles claviger. Can this be confirmed by the following images?
1st: Female 2021-09-03:

3rd: female unmasked as the vampire 2021-09-07

I think the first (female) and the third (female) look OK for claviger. The second (male) has quite a dark thorax, and could be plumbeus, but often it's very difficult to separate these species, even with a specimen.

Thanks a lot, Tony!
During the same session I made zoomed fotos of the male with and w/o flash. I think the dark colour of the male depends on flash and the white mentha-blossom. But I will try to make more fotos to be sure.
Greetings, Eric Kloeckner

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
