Chloropidae, Oscuinellinae: Hapleginella laevifrons (Loew, 1858) [junior synonym Oscinella inquilina Hendel, 1923]. This species has repeatedly been reared from cones of different genera of conifers, being attacked by other insect but also from cynipid galls. Dissertations and much literature from many countries are dealing with this species which partly is treated as harmful for the commercial seed application. The polished scutum and large shining ocellar triangle and the ochre antennae are helpful for an easy identification. |
