Hello, I am keying this again out at Emporomyia but i think this genus may have been reclassified? Romania summer 2019 Details not shown in photos: body length - 6mm propleuron hairs - unsure metathorax - membraneous Thanks for any help in advance! Edited by JCobain on 19-12-2021 20:09 |

I have never heard of Emporomyia. Looking it up in the world checklist, it belongs to tribe Ernestiini which is usually characterized by conspicuously hairy eyes, crossvein m-cu meeting M close to the bend, a long pedicel (and often broad postpedicel), and a projecting chin. I think your fly belongs to the Exoristinae or possibly one of the tribes of small Tachininae. |

By the way, you specimens are in poor condition. Are they from traps ? Otherwise, please take care get the head straight and spread the wings and legs while pinning. Theo |
