dear fly-reader, On August 9th I found this little Sciomyzidae sp. on the flower Plantago lanceolata in Amsterdam/Beatrixpark. I took the picture only from one side, you do not have a good view on the wings.. size: ~6-10mm But perhaps someone can give me a direction for this type of fly? Grey-ish underpart of the legs and the yellow above it, also yellow on the forhead, white(ish) face, horizontal dark stripe on side-thorax and abdomen(side) Short frontal base of the antenne (what is the name of this part of the fly?; Scrobe/Scape?) It looks like a Tetanocera to me... (Tetanocera ferruginea?, arrogans?, silvatica?) I edit some detailed information in my original message, let's say an update. regards Robert Heemskerk |
