Hi Raimo, I think it could be a female Thricops diaphanus - but I'm not sure, as usually it should have a completely black EDIT: frontal vitta (was parafrontalia).

My initial guess also Eric, but I could not find any photo of one with this yellow there.

I've looked at the image again and firstly, my mistake: it's the frontal vitta which is black and yellow! But secondly, I saw that the fly has 2 pairs of inclinate frontal setae which qualifies it as a Thricops. There's no other completely yellow Thricops, so T. diaphanus seems to be the right ID. Perhaps it's a partly teneral one.

Tried to attach an image to a forum post. jpg, 32kB, 72dpi, no blanks, ... File name is correctly displayed, but when I click "Preview Thread" it just vanishes. Help!
