Phaonia cf. subventa and Phaonia sp. (Muscidae)
Rui Andrade
I found this fly in Barcelos, Portugal. It seems to me that it belongs to the family Muscidae but I'm not sure.
The last picture shows a different specimen and I don't know if it's the same species. I think it may be a different species because the postpronotum is of a different colour.

The first fly should be Phaonia subventa (short-haired arista, t1 with one posterior seta, t2 with two post. setae).

When you say t1 and t2 are you refering to tibia (sorry, I'm not very used to this terminology)?
The next photo shows the mid tibia. Are the red arrows pointing to the two setae you refer? And how you name the setae that the green arrow is pointing to?

Yes, t1 is tibia 1 (fore tibia) etc. Sorry for the abbreviations.
The 2 posterior setae are correctly pointed by the red arrows.
The green arrow point to the "preapical dorsal seta". This doesn't matter in this case.

Greetings.

Stephane.

Should I write the name as Phaonia cf. subventa?

No one mentioned anything about the last photo. Is it Phaonia?
