I found these hoverflies in July 2021 on different Italian mountains (Lombardy region, Northern Italy), in particular: A) Sasso Malascarpa (CO, altitude: 1200 m a.s.l.); B) Corni di Canzo (LC, altitude: 1300 m a.s.l.); C) Grigna Meridionale (LC, altitude: 1700 m a.s.l.); D) Piani di Artavaggio (LC, altitude: 1600 m a.s.l.); E) Monte Cavallo (BG, altitude: 2000 m a.s.l.). Could they be Eupoedes luniger? Unfortunately, the pictures are not very good. Thanks in advance for any help! |

Hi, Eupeodes seems to be correct, but luniger cannot be confirmed from your images.
Greetings, Eric Kloeckner |
