All requests are from the urban area of Vienna, if not otherwise stated.

My Diptera observations (and other living forms) can be found here, and corrections or comments over there would also be appreciated.

Thanks Nikita,
I had missed your reply - for Austria there should only be two options:
P. medium or vittatum - and for both almost no data points are available

Although I would find it astonishing to find such a genus (larvae deloping in Orchids, Polygonatum, Paris) in the inner city area

Why not Cordilura albipes? Jan, identification isn't mine but by Scathophagid expert Andrey Ozerov.

It seems to me that if you look closely at the first picture, the arista is long haired, which, as far as I know isn't the case in Parelleloma. Colour of the scutum is rather variable in Codilura albipes.

Lorin may be able to tell more about the hairs on the arista.

In the Nearctic key, Cordilura goes through option "Upper depressed portion of propleuron (disc of proepisternum) with at least a few fine hairs" and Parallelomma through the alternative "Upper depressed portion of propleuron bare".

Andrey Ozerov re-examined images. He took back Parallelomma. Probably you are right with Cordilura albipes.

Thank you all!
I must have the specimen somewhere, will have a closer look once I find it again
