A rather large Chironomidae.
Is it possible to identify?

It is close to Chironomus. It looks like the superior volsellae are swollen at the base. Some of the species with that character have been moved in and out of Chironomus over the years.

Tried to attach an image to a forum post. jpg, 32kB, 72dpi, no blanks, ... File name is correctly displayed, but when I click "Preview Thread" it just vanishes. Help!
