Hi, In the last days of March I came across tiny black flies drinking on damp forest paths. I still have recognition problems with the little black ones. Could they be Lonchaeids? Sundew - they are specimens of Earomyia lonchaeoides - damp forest paths in early spring seem to be a favourite hang out for them! Iain Iain MacGowan |
