Hi All Another fly from an old estate, near a lake, also sheep faring in the locale. I think this is the right fly but there maybe others that are similar that I haven't found. Sorry for the bang average photos, the fly wouldn't sit still for a second and the autofocus struggled with the iridescence..... Could someone ID please? Thanks, Gareth |

Hi Gareth, Sargus iridatus has darker, blackish wings and black feet. I think this one is a female Chloromyia formosa.

Feet (as in “tarsi”) are dark in Ch. formosa as well, otherwise you would have Ch. speciosa. Theo |
