Hi, Yesterday I saw a Muscid on a Salix shrub by a little stream, which I think is a Lispe species. Unfortunately it was too restless to allow for a good series of photos. I hope that the identification can nevertheless be narrowed down a bit. The locality is southwest Germany, 20 km west of Stuttgart. Many thanks in advance, Sundew Edited by Sundew on 20-07-2022 03:14 |

Ah - Limnophora is not yet familiar to me. This specimen has 2+3 dc, which fits L. triangula. Are there more species with this bristle combination to be considered? |

Judging by the key to central European species, at least two species of Limnophora normally have 2+3 dc and others (L. nigripes) are variable. |
