Hi, this quick little fly came to (but not into!) my eyes in an old shed in my garden near Frankenhoehe Nature Park, old deciduous forest, 2022-08-05. I'm not sure about the species - tarsi completely yellow but the white line behind the eye is quite long?

I think it is P. variegata, a very dark specimen. In the "odd" specimens it is advisable to make preparation of genitalia in order to be safe. |

Thank you very much, Jan! It ran over a old, dirty windowpane and I think it was not as dark as it seems in the flash.
