Dioxyna and more (latter unknown) continued (Action!)
Sundew
Hello,
There are several flies that simply ignore the rule "one fly per thread." That is because there is no rule "one fly per flower head", and Tripleurospermum maritimum (Asteraceae) is so attractive! The grey one with the white cheeks joined some smaller ones that I think are Dioxyna bidentis and was "attacked" - at least the picture gives that impression! Please confirm the tephritid and identify the grey one (hopefully not as an indeterminable anthomyiid). The meeting took place on the Baltic Island of Usedom in August.
Thanks, Sundew

The other fly is a male Anthomyiid. I think the Tephritid ID is ok, but wait for the pros to confirm it.

Here is another adventure of that possible anthomyiid (same locality, on Tanacetum vulgare [Asteraceae]), commented by a watching Dioxyna couple. Is the luckless crab spider a Xysticus (Thomisidae)? Seems to be an invalid with two legs lacking. So many different animals in one thread, but it is not my fault.
