What is it...
javanerkelens
I find this a very difficult fly to find.
Why....I find the calypter very big, and a little strange .

Can it by Sarcophagidae or maybe Tachinidae

It is a Fly found on 12 aug 2007
In Giethoorn
And was about 14 mm

This is a Tachinid. It looks familar, but I leave it to the pros.

Good question.
The grey markings on tergites are too extensive.
Moreover, it's a male, and you can actually see the fluffy hairs at the ventral side of tergite 4 (yes, it take some imagination), which is typical for male larvarum.

moreover, larvarum is common at Giethoorn, it's too wet for fasciata.
