This Bibio came to light at the Island of Gotland, in the Baltic Sea, Sweden. It was the 23 of September 2022. Could it be Bibio Longipes. I am very thankfull for help. Thanks in advance Stefan Risberg Edited by StefanR on 15-10-2022 20:29 |

Hi Stefan, I think it's B. clavipes: The pterostigma seems to be limited by the subcosta and the wings are not hyaline but more milkwhite. (De zwarte vlieg bibio longipes, een late herfstsoort by Theo Zeegers) Greetings, Eric Kloeckner |

IDing from picture can be very tricky. Especially, since the degree-of -milkyness on the wing depends on angle of view and hence can be very obvious in the field and very deceiving in one still. I couldn’t / wouldn’t make the call here. Theo |

Thank you Eric and Theo for your reply. I have a Photo from another angle and the wings look milky to me. So likely Clavipes. Stefan |
