Hi, This very small fly took a rest on a leaf at our garden hedge. I suspect it could be a female of a Chlorops species, maybe Chlorops pumilionis. Can that be confirmed or excluded from the attached image and/or is a determination possible? Is the stuff at the end of the abdomen an egg-packet or just excrements? Hi Roger, thank you for the identification, at least the family was correct . That seem to be "pheromone sacs", though. Never heard of that before ... Greetings, Uli |
