Tabanidae, Tabanus bromius from Romania

Hi,

photographed this tabanid in a carstic area in june 2006. just after some rain.
something more can be said?

Well, there is an eyeband in the first picture and the notopleural lobes are dark,
so I would suggest bromius.

OK - I wondered about the eye stripe - wasn't sure if it was real or not, and I thought the body was a bit grey looking. I'll try and remember about the notopleuron.

thanks for the help.
and yes the eyeband is real.

i will put the name of T.bromis on the photos.
i will add also another Tabanus (i think Smile ) this days.

Tried to attach an image to a forum post. jpg, 32kB, 72dpi, no blanks, ... File name is correctly displayed, but when I click "Preview Thread" it just vanishes. Help!
