Drino gilva - could you please confirm?
Slimguy
Hello, this tachinid came from a cocoon that was spun by a larva that came out of a Diprion pini cocoon. I collected the Diprion pini cocoon mid of June in a forest south of Heidelberg where in the direct neigborhood pines were occupied by Dipriion pini larvae. The tachinid fly appeard on July 3rd, the fly cocoon was spun about 10 days before. With this biology information I think it must be the genus Drino. With the coloring I guess it is Drino gilva. Could you please confirm?

Hello, I'm not sure as I've never seen it - but I think you are right with Drino gilva. Hopefully we'll get the expert's opinion soon!
Greetings, Eric Kloeckner

Legs seems pretty dark. Without a better view on the leg bases, I would not dare to make the call.

Hello, here you can see that the tarsi and other parts of the legs are partly yellow.

That would support your claim. However, the specimen is very teneral, so I would check it again when “mature” (it is, now)
