I thought of that Jorge, but when I compare with Black's Neopachygaster meromelas (the only Neopachygaster listed for the Netherlands) in the Gallery my fly misses the darkened femora. Ben |

yep. True. But it is other Neopachygaster.  Wing venation is right for this genus. Take a look on scutum. It has proeminences in both sides. Your fly seems to be a male. I can be wrong though. |

It's a male of Pachygaster leachii. The difference in colouration of the legs - as well observed by Ben- is decisive. See Brugge, 2002 for the dutch Stratiomyiidae. Theo |
