Tachinidae Ocytata pallipes (not Bithia?)
eklans
Ansbach, garden near Frankenhoehe Nature Park, old deciduous forest, 2023-08-13
on Euonymus japonicus

Seconds after starting our photo session, my model was stolen by a Vespula germanica, so I could only take a few photos. MoschWeb and the T&H key led me to Bithia (geniculata). But I'm not sure as I could not find an image of geniculata.
In this thread: https://diptera.i...d_id=33854 we can see the same "aberrant topvein" and my poor fly resembles that Danish fly.
EDIT: It's a Ocytata pallipes.

Thanks John, that looks good - I have Ocytata in my collection and I'll check it tomorrow.

I think Ocytata pallipes is correct - I've sorted it out as the fly in my photo collection was "Uniformly yellowish-grey dusted", T&H key and the one of 13th August differs - but many others differ, too.
Thanks again John!

Yes, Ocytatabitmis. Note the apical crossvein is nearly completely lacking.
