Hello, I photographed this specimen on August 17, 2023 at the inner Alm-valley in Southern Upper Austria, in a wood at an altitude of approximately 1000m. When photographing it, I tought of a syrphid, but the antennae don't like syphid-like at all. What is it? Best regards, Eckhart |

The wing veins are typical of Syrphidae – long basal cells and closed r5. |

Volucella bombylans for me. Arista are plumose in this species. |
