Mycetophilidae?
Niek van Wijk
Dear forum,

I took this picture today in my glasshouse.
Is it Mycetophilidae and can it be further identified?

Best regards, Niek

You are welcome - there's also Alexander I. Zaitsev in Russia, but I don't have his E-mail address.

Dear Black,

Thank you for your extended help.

LATER EDIT: I JUST NOTICED THAT I MISSPELLED THE ADDRESS AND TRIED AGAIN.

I tried, but my mail did not reach

There was a SMTP communication problem with the recipient's email

<cpsmtp-voip03.kpnplanet.nl #5.5.0 smtp;550 Sorry, no mailbox here
by that name.>

On the other hand, I am quite happy that I got Mycetophilidae right and I do feel somewhat embarrassed bothering a specialist with a picture that probably does not show sufficient details to make any further identification possible......

Best regards, Niek

Today I received the following answer from Dr. Jan ?evč?k:

"
Dear Niek,
it should be a female of Exechiopsis sp. Members of this genus are known to overwinter as adults, for example in caves, so that its occurrence in these days is typical. More precise identification is not possible from the picture.
Best wishes,
Jan.
"

Regards, Niek
