I can not place it with confidence in the key by F. C. do Val (1976) but it might be the common species Pantophthalmus tabaninus.

There is a 1992 review of the Mesoamerican species, a book chapter which is not free online.

Tried to attach an image to a forum post. jpg, 32kB, 72dpi, no blanks, ... File name is correctly displayed, but when I click "Preview Thread" it just vanishes. Help!
