I think this might be M. magna, is it possible to confirm from these photos?

After consulting the review by Malloch and McAtee (1924) I think you are right about Minettia magna.

Tried to attach an image to a forum post. jpg, 32kB, 72dpi, no blanks, ... File name is correctly displayed, but when I click "Preview Thread" it just vanishes. Help!
