Hello, I photographed this fly near Forca di Valle (TE), Italy, 1200m a.s.l. on June 18th 2023. I think it is a Tachinidae, but is it possible to identify its genus or species from these photos? Thank you in advance, Emanuele Edited by ESant on 26-10-2023 12:27 |

Buona sera Emanuele, it's a very interesting fly - but more a guess than an ID: male Eriothrix monticola? If you have a frontal view: the space between the scapes of the antennae should be minimum 2/3 of the width of first antennal segment. Greetings, Eric Kloeckner |

Thank you Eric! E. monticola seems indeed to be a very good match, but unfortunately I don't have a frontal view. |
