This fly was caught in a light trap mid October this year just outside Stockholm in Sweden. With help from keys I have identified it as a Phaonia species (hope it is right). But i got stuck in the key when trying to get down to the actual species. Is it possible from these images to say what species it is? - or come up with a few suggestions on possible candidates to check further? Edited by olep on 20-10-2023 11:38 |

Many thanks tristram, as you suggest it is a male of Phaonia tuguriorum. Obviously I have only seen females befor and they have a space between the eyes so that's why I got stuck in the key. |
