I caught this fly in Ngaoundere/Cameroon/West Africa in July 1995 (rainy season) on grassland in the hills. Unfortunately I have no idea what it might be. Can someone of you help me identify it? Greetings from Austria, G?nter   |

Hello Guenther, This is a fly that belongs in the family Stratiomyidae, Soldier flies. I think it should be in the genus Hermetia, because it resembles Hermetia illucens a lot!
