Image recognition points to Helina depuncta, but she has 4 dorsal centrals.

I think it's a female Helina impuncta - but not all relevant characters are visible.

Hi Eric, Thanks for your response, it is much appreciated. What would be the relevant characters here? I have some more pictures, but of poor quality. p.s. The sighting was on September 15th in the east of the Netherlands. |

Hi Pieter, a higher resolution of the head on this photo could help to have a better look at the arista's hairs. And lateral views could be useful , too, to see the bristles of the legs - especially the tibiae!

Thanks for the images - I think we can now call it female Helina impuncta: - aristal hairs smaller - (3 or) 4 dorsocentrals - 1 pair of elongated presuturals acrostichals - fore femur yellow - transverse wing veins shaded... Greetings, Eric Kloeckner |
