Hello, Currently, a colleague and I are managing a collection of diptera from various areas of Greece, containing some species that could be new records for the fauna of the country. Although for some of these groups we have managed to collect recent references concerning their distributions, for others (e.g., Heleomyzidae) the only precise, recent and updated reference we have is Fauna Europaea, which, however, is "down" for at least 2 months now... As a result, I'd like to ask you if anybody here happens to know or even possess recent works (e.g., catalogs, new records papers etc) of the following families and species, where the countries of distribution are mentioned (for example, I have some recent works like "The Diptera of European part of USSR", but there the distribution is usually vaguely mentioned): 1) Agromyzidae (Melanagromyza sativae, Cerodontha phragmitophila) 2) Chloropidae (Lipara lucens) 3) Heleomyzidae, incl. Trixoscelididae (Neoleria ruficeps, Trixoscelis pedestris) 4) Lauxaniidae (Pseudolyciella stylata) 5) Psilidae (Chamaepsila nigra) 6) Tephritidae (Ensina sonchi) Thanks in advance! |

I had a stab at finding records and references for Greece within the Micropezids and Tanypezids but came up with very little, https://micropezi...#Greece%20 If anyone is posting images of Psilidae on iNaturalist then they are likely to end up here https://www.inatu...tanypezids but zooming in on the map shows few do so. The Ramel paper at https://micropezi...fo/node/95 covers some Greek species If you do find Psilidae then both Paul Beuk and Jocelyn Claude (and myself) would be interested as they've produced keys. Good hunting Edited by Darwyn Sumner on 09-02-2024 09:18 |
