Hi flyforum, Just one another Tachinidae this afternoon in the Amsterdam forest. Sitting on bark of Alder, sunning. size about 1cm Legs are have different colourparts (femur - tibia) This wingveins are special?! The antenne is very long. I don't have pictures from the face so much.. But perhabs something can be told about the specie? No, but it is naturally to think that. It is Campylochaeta praecox, our earliest Tachinid. You elaborated the distinctive features quite nicely. In the hand: the ocellars are reclinate, very unusual in Tachinidae. (but invisible in these pictures). So, you are better now ? Theo |

Campylochaeta is in caterpillars. I have explained my spelling on this forum before: I do correct obvious misspelliings by Rondani (most of the time) and others (less frequent).
