Campylocheta praecox
Robert Heemskerk
hi flyforum,

Yesterday, I found this Campylocheta sitting on a 'Pleurotus ostreatus'.
a coincidence? or is the fly special attrackted by this fungus?

This is a Campylocheta praecox, or is Campylocheta inepta also possible?

Is it possible to see a sexdifference from the picture? (frontal bristles?)

Many yes

Yes, it is C. praecox, yes it is a male since yes the proclinate orbitals are lacking (and the pulvilli are elongated).

Yes, the association with Pleurotus is coincidential.
