Locaction: Midwest Sweden (Dalsland) Date: 2006-JUL-07 Habitat: Found dead indoors Sorry about the quality of theses photos. Is it possible to ID anyway? I have looked through my finnish hover fly book, but I haven't found this one. The photographs in that book is really poor. Checking Cyrille Dussaix nice site I think it might be Pipiza, and perhaps Pipiza festiva (female)!? What do you think? Edited by crex on 12-03-2008 17:10 |

In no way it's festiva. Tarsae are too dark, for instance. Looks more like lugubris to me. Clear marked spot on the wings, all light hairs.. |

Identifying Pipiza from pictures is a very unwise idea. Having said this, and ignoring it, I'm with Andre female Pipiza lugubris. Shape of antenna is 'characteristic' (please do note the ''  .Theo |
