Small, 3mm.
May be Chloropidae?

I hope somebody will be able to say something about this image. I saw many many similar flies to this one in Japan, and usually put those down as presumed Lauxaniid flies possibly Homoneura sp, but with bad feelings, since these flies do sometimes look like Chloropids. However my flies were slightly larger than yours, maybe around 4 mm, whereas similar Chloropids were more in the 2 mm range. Maybe I'll post a few images in the future too.

I think Homoneura may not be far of the mark. The fly has a lauxaniid feel to it and the marginal setulae extend to the tip of R4+5. A picture from another angle (wing venation more clearly visible) might help, though.

Only this image so far, sorry. I hope that this fly is collected, if yes I'll do my best to ID it.
My impresion: formaly looks like Homoneura, but hard to belive it.

Here's a blast from the past! I did a Forum Search for lauxaniid, just to go back and see the older pictures, and came across this one. It IS a lauxaniid - genus Parapachycerina.Grin

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
