It's not very clear, but there is a suggestion of a bristle on the outer face of the right flagellomere, which would make this Setacera. Ephydra is usually associated with salt water and Setacera with fresh water. though this is not always the case.

It seems to me it has 3 fr-or, if so - then Ephydra.

this is Setacera sp. undoubtely. There is *really* a bristle in the first flagelomere, to me it is very clear!

Well, I can't be certain about the bristle on the first flagellomere - and the number of strong fronto-orbitals is not clear either - it could be two or three. Have you got a specimen Nikita, so you settle this one?Wink

Dear friends,
in Febr 2006, Sinai, Egypt was my first experience to pin some flies.
I'm not sure this fly was pinned. If so, it has determination of Marina Krivosheina.
So far, let it be Ephydrini sp.
I also thank you all. I'm also happy of such a grate attantion of experts to this modest fly.
Soon I will migrate for 1,5 month to Thailand. I hope I can depend on your help with Oriental fauna!
