I was arrived to the same name. That is a confirmation. I have still been looking for it since I posted the picture. I do not know if these peculiar front legs can be found on other species. Cheers, Mariki |

The flattened front legs are a feature of many (most?) male Platycheirus spp.

Yes Susan, most males Platycheirus have broadened and/or flattened fore tibia and tarsi.
