You are right Nikita. The first one is definitely Hydrophoria ruralis (large lower calypter, legs partly yellowish). The second one could be either Hylemya variata or H. urbica. Probably urbica because the tibiae are medially obscurely orange, generally black in variata, though I have some which are very slightly orange. Only the genitalia will identify this, I posted drawings some way back. Hydrophoria can be separated from Hylemya (superficially very similar) by the scutellum in the former being setose, and the larger calypter. |
