syrphid with violet wings

Found this species at the weekend. I think it is a syrphid but I've not come across a species with such violet wings before. There were several around (southern England). Any help would be appreciated.

With this purple sheen, Pyrophaena (=Platycheirus) rosarum I think.

Tried to attach an image to a forum post. jpg, 32kB, 72dpi, no blanks, ... File name is correctly displayed, but when I click "Preview Thread" it just vanishes. Help!
