Hippoboscid in Turdus philomelos
Rui Andrade
This hippoboscid was found today (21/06/2008) in Avintes, Portugal. Is it identifiable? It carries with him what I think are phoretic mites, or could they be parasitic?

I think it's similar to Ornithomya sp., is that correct?

From what I can make out it looks to be Ornithomya avicularia.

Thank you very much for your answer PaulGrin. Is your feeling strong enough to leave it as Ornithomya cf. avicularia?
