Although mediterranean robberfly threads usually never have an answer, sometimes someone receive some answer and for this reason I try it again. This pretty-faced robberfly was found yesterday at Pe?aflor, Zaragoza, NE Spain, at 300 meters, continental-mediterranen climate, in a salty dried marsh covered completely with Suaeda vera and Brachypodium retusum with patches of Phragmites and Tamarix. The fly sizes about 12 mm.   Thanks, Regards |

Hi Isidro, It is possible that Glyphotriclis ornatus is specific to this habitat - I'm not sure. Many 'Laphystiini' (the group this genus belongs to) prefer such habitats (fine, alkaline/ silty soil with salt-tolerant vegetation). It is good to learn that this fly was found in such a habitat.
