Three antennas ?
Ben Hamers
Hello,

This Psychodidae sp. I saw last November near Brunssum. My camera doesn't hallucinate normally, so could it be possible that the animal had three antennas, or is it eating a colleague ?

Thanks,

Ben

I think these are the elongated palpi. If you look carefully at the enlarged picture it seems that there are two 'third antennae' very close to each other and they are apperently five segmented. Many Psychodidae have more or less elongated palpi but these are often held closer to the ventral part of the head.
